Care for Every Single Student

　Based on the spirit in which our school was founded, Rokko has an integrated Program of Student Guidance. The teachers and the students who work together in the Department for Student Guidance lead and help every single student to become part of the school life without losing the responsibility for and the autonomy of their individual life style.
　The task of the teachers who work in this department is to watch over the adherence to the school rules, the cleaning of the school building, and the conduct of the students outside the school. In concrete terms this means: they give guidance to those students who are late for school, they take care of things lost and found, and damage claims made by the students, they organize the cleaning of the school building, and give instructions in traffic safety, and many other things. Furthermore, whenever a student has a problem concerning his way of life, his family, or his friends, these teachers are there to counsel him.
　These are also the students who belong to the Department of Student Guidance. We call them Prefects. They are elected by the students themselves. They are not simply helpers of the teachers, but engage actively and responsibly in the guidance of their fellow students and in supervising the cleaning of the school building, so as to ensure a good school climate.
　To make sure that the whole school life runs smoothly, the teachers of the Department for Student Guidance are in their office from 7:30 in the morning till 4:30 in the afternoon. The Prefects, too, have their office, where they can be found before classes, during the noon break, and after school. It is one of the characteristics of Rokko's education that all the teachers take part in this program of Students Guidance.
